Package Description: Domestic Assistants (x 4 posts) - 30 hours per week
Loretto School is one of Britain’s leading independent boarding and day schools located on the outskirts of Edinburgh. We have a fantastic opportunity to join our team as a Domestic Assistant.
Main responsibilities:
You will provide a full range of cleaning duties to non-residential and residential areas of the School. This includes areas such as classrooms, toilets and washrooms, offices and boarding rooms.
Experience and skills
Experience in a professional cleaning capacity and knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies is desirable, but not essential.
You will be able to work as part of a team.
You will need to be able to work flexibly across the School as directed by the Facilities Housekeeping Managers.
Working hours are 30 per week, Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3pm, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.
There are four posts are available. Two are school term-time plus 12 days non-term time. This includes one working day before the start of each term, and one working day after the end of each term. Two posts are term time plus 12 days, and an additional 5 weeks during the year.
Please note in your application which post you are interested in – term time plus 12 days, or term time plus 12 days and 5 additional weeks.
The current rate of pay is £12.48 per hour, increasing to £12.71 in April 2026.
