Early Years Practitioner - The Glasgow Academy Milngavie (3-5)
Term time: The Glasgow Academy Milngavie, Mugdock Road, Milngavie, G62 8NP
We are seeking to employ enthusiastic, dynamic and forward-thinking Early Years staff to play a key role in our Milngavie setting. This post offers the chance to develop our nurturing and inspiring environment, where our pre-school children can flourish. You would be working alongside a committed team bringing to life a culture of nurture and excellence, with high expectations from all.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Is qualified to, or is interested in working towards, an Early Years qualification or a
- BA in Early Education & Childcare / Childcare Practice (or equivalent)
- Brings energy, creativity and fresh thinking to early years practice
- Has a genuine passion for working with children aged 3-5
- Is motivated to contribute to the development of an outstanding setting, both indoors and outdoors.
- A passion for outdoors education is particularly favourable, due to our unique location and access to nature. Any experience or further qualifications in this area would be beneficial, but not necessary.
The Role
You will:
- Help to foster a warm, nurturing and stimulating environment where every child feels safe, valued and inspired to explore and learn.
- Play a role in implementing the ethos, routines and learning experiences within The Glasgow Academy. Your own learning and development will play a part in this.
- Work collaboratively to provide learning opportunities rooted in inclusion, curiosity and high-quality care and learning. This includes planning, tracking, and reporting on children, as well as self-evaluation within the team.
- Support the Head of Nursery and Kindergarten, along with the existing team, in delivering strong foundations for parent partnerships and child development.
Professional Practice
Applicants should be confident in current early years frameworks and guidance, including:
- GIRFEC (Getting It Right for Every Child)
- Realising the Ambition
- How Good Is Our Early Learning and Childcare (HGIOELC)
- Curriculum for Excellence, including Early Level Benchmarks
A commitment to continuous professional development and reflective practice is essential.
