Package Description: Erskine Stewart Melville are currently recruiting for an Early Years School Librarian to join the Junior School on a temporary basis from 21 September 2026 until the end of the 2026/27 session (subject to satisfactory pre-employment checks). The role is part-time, term-time only, working 29 hours per week, with a salary of £18,230. The working pattern for this role is Tuesday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:15pm with 30 minutes unpaid for lunch. The role is based at Ravelston.
The purpose of the role is to manage the Library at Ravelston and lead daily library sessions for pupils from Nursery to Primary 3,and will include such duties as:
- Reading to classes each day
- Promoting literacy skills throughout each library session
- Continuous evaluation of the Library’s contribution to School life
The successful candidate must have the ability to work as part of a small team, the ability to nurture positive relationships with pupils and be proficient in data base administration.
