Package Description: Erskine Stewart’s Melville Schools are currently recruiting for a two Sports Attendant (NPLQ Qualified) to join the ESMS Sports Centre on a part-time basis from March 2026 (subject to satisfactory pre-employment checks):
- 1 x Part-time position, working 12 hours per week over a minimum two shifts
- 1 x Part-time position, working 18 hours per week over a minimum three shifts
Sports Attendants play a key role in maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for all users of the sports centre. You will be responsible for lifeguarding the pool and ensuring that all safety rules are followed, maintaining cleanliness and equipment throughout the facility, and supporting the smooth running of daily operations. This includes setting up sports equipment, assisting at reception, managing bookings and membership queries, and delivering excellent customer service. You will also carry out fitness room inductions for new users, help ensure health and safety standards are met, and assist with promotional activities and other tasks as directed by management.
Shifts will be allocated on a rota basis, working six hour shifts in between the times of 6:30am to 10:30pm, Monday to Sunday. A degree of flexibility is required for this role. Remuneration for the following positions is based on a pro rata salary as follows:
- £7,946 for a part-time position, working 12 hours per week
- £11,919 for a part-time position, working 18 hours per week
The ideal candidate will hold an NPLQ and demonstrate strong communication, teamwork, and organisational skills, with the ability to follow health and safety guidance. A positive attitude, integrity, and an understanding of games-based coaching are essential. Experience in customer service, schools or fitness settings, a First Aid certificate, and a keen interest in sport and fitness are desirable.
